Fractional CMO (Chief Marketing Officer) and Consulting
After being taken advantage by multiple roofing web design companies, roofing SEO companies, and even my own in-house web designers and marketing managers, I realized that I needed to take matters into my own hands and learn how to do web design, SEO, and run Google and Facebook Ads myself personally. I was always intrigued by these disciplines but I could not sit and concentrate long enough to learn these disciplines. Once I was evaluated and diagnosed with ADHD and starting a treatment plan and medication, my learning skyrocketed. I hired a freelance consultant who specializes in Web Design and SEO and he personally trained me over the last two years on these disciplines. I also hired a freelance Google Ads expert to teach me the technical aspects of running Google Ads. My digital marketing knowledge has grown substantially and I often know more than most digital marketing agencies and freelancers. Getting taken advantage of by a digital marketing agency or digital marketing freelancer at this point is very unlikely. I can now serve as a valuable resource to other roofing company owners and other related home services businesses. I want to share my knowledge with other roofers around the country who lack the digital marketing knowledge base necessary to thrive in today's internet environment. I've created a simple and innovative approach to CMO and consulting that does not require any time commitments and is affordable.
I charge $99 per hour for Fractional CMO and consulting services and I do my consulting is completely virtual. Although my consulting practice is focussed on digital marketing, as an experienced roofing company owner I can also consult on broad topics concerning roofing and exteriors. You can engage me by filling out a contact form on this website and if I feel that we can work together I will send you a booking link where you can book me at your convenience. I generally recommend booking me for two hours for the first consult and then we can decide together how to best proceed.
My consulting usually begins by doing a brief audit of your online presence and website performance and I can also give you practical steps for how to improve your online presence. I also answer pressing questions regarding your website and give you cost effective recommendations on resolving problems. I can offer you referrals to reputable agencies and freelancers and even advocate on your behalf if you feel that you are being taken advantage of by your current marketing agency. My recommendations are always unbiased and I always think of your best interest and since you are paying my fee in advance you don't have to worry that I am pitching you on high cost services unless you request for me to perform a website rebuild or assist you with SEO and Google Ad Management. If you want that then I can offer you a quote if I have the band-with for your project.
Roofing Experience
After knocking doors for two years and getting my future spouse pregnant, I decided to pursue being a roofing Sales Manager. I had managed hundreds of roofing projects by then and was ready to start training others. The company I worked for gave me a good opportunity to earn commissions from sales people on my team and trained multiple roofing sales teams over the years. I helped the company go from about $2m a year to $6m when I left the company in 2019. This experience culminated in the formation of my own roofing company where I spent five successful years at the helm. Under my leadership, the company consistently achieved annual revenues of approximately $2 million from the first year and grew to include a team of twelve dedicated employees. In the first twelve months my company went from $0 to $2m due to my marketing expertise. My entrepreneurial journey has revolved around marketing and sales and leading initiatives such as developing the company website from scratch to optimize multiple channels of lead generation and creating a dedicated YouTube channel to enhance my roofing company's digital presence.
Marketing Experience
My marketing journey commenced with the hands-on development of my company's roofing website, working intimately with the initial designer to ensure every detail aligned with the brand and vision. Recognizing the importance of continuous improvement, I subsequently hired an in-house web designer, and together we enhanced the website's functionality and aesthetic appeal. Parallel to these efforts, I actively built and expanded my company's presence on social media platforms, elevating the brand's community engagement which my wife helped with extensively. My commitment to community involvement deepened as I fostered valuable partnerships with local insurance agents, real estate professionals, and community organizations. During the challenging times of the pandemic, I initiated a unique outreach by purchasing a vehicle to deliver food to locals under lockdown, a humanitarian effort that garnered attention on local news channels. This period also sparked his interest in content creation, leading me to produce videos that not only promoted the company's services but also demonstrated the company's community commitment and his industry expertise.
Consulting Experience
After developing a deep passion for content creation and digital marketing, I closed my roofing business to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Film and Television. I founded Jacox Sales and Marketing and collaborated with a local roofing company as an independent contractor, assuming the role of Director of Sales and Marketing. Leveraging his vast experience, Armando directly consulted with the company's owner, significantly contributing to doubling the company’s revenue. This impressive growth reinforced my belief in my ability to offer substantial value to roofing business owners. In this new capacity, I took on the responsibilities of a webmaster and engaged closely with a freelance SEO consultant and web designer. These collaborations not only enhanced my skills in web design and SEO but also ignited my enthusiasm for sharing his newfound knowledge with other roofing company owners who need help with their website, online presence, and lead generation.
Selling Your Company
After operating Foothills Roofing and Exteriors for only two years, I was presented with multiple offers to buy my company. I went through a process to sell and decided to keep the company, however, hind sight being 20/20 I can now can see how a strategy to exit the company and sell to a private buyer, private equity, or a roofing company consolidation model could have been an excellent way to exit my roofing company successfully. This process can be extremely complex and I'm happy to offer unbiased insights and knowledgeable advice that a roofing company owner can use to make their own decisions in an empowered way.
